A TOTAL of £2.5m is set to be invested in education in Haltwhistle.
Northumberland County Council has revealed it will invest the sum of money into Haltwhistle Academy, run by WISE Acadmies.
The announcement followed the news that plans to extend the age range at the First Academy to become a primary school had been approved by the regional schools commissioner, but the final decision on the proposals will be made by the Department for Education.
