SCI-FI fans from all over the country descended on Allendale last Friday in support of Neil Cole’s Dalek.
Neil, who runs the Museum of Classic Sci-Fi, issued a rallying cry after the Dalek – and the shed which it calls home outside the museum – have been under threat since a resident complained that the structure did not have planning permission.
The popular museum, which is part of Neil’s Grade II listed family home, opened its doors last year.
“The support has been stunning, really amazing,” Neil said.
“We even had a couple visit from Sweden, they were on holiday in the country anyway but they came to Allendale because of the museum.”
Daleks have sprung up around the town as many residents and local businesses have shown their support. A decision on the future of the shed is expected from the county council next week.
