POLICE are asking for the driver of a vehicle involved in a collision which resulted in a cyclist being taken to hospital to get in touch.

At around 1.50pm on Thursday, February 7, police received a report of a crash between a vehicle and a cyclist on Berwick Hill Road, near Ponteland.

Emergency services attended and a male cyclist was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his shoulder.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped briefly at the scene, but had already left by the time police and paramedics attended without leaving their details.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision, and police are asking the driver of the vehicle involved to get in touch.

Officers also want to hear from any witnesses to the incident, or drivers who may have dashcam footage, to get in touch.
