Stan Beckensall receives his MBE at Buckingham Palace.
WELL-KNOWN Hexham author Stan Beckensall visited Buckingham Palace to pick up his MBE.
Dr Beckensall received the honour for services to prehistoric rock art and history in the New Year's Honours list and he will give a talk on the back of the accolade in Hexham next month in aid of West Northumberland Foodbank and Tynedale Hospice at Home.
The author, who has written more than 40 books on prehistoric rock art, will give the talk at Hexham Abbery on March 19. Last year he raised £1,400 for local and national charities through giving talks.
