Workington Magistrates Court
A Cleator Moor man has been sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months.
Jordan Malcolm Dobson, 27, of Greenthwaite, admitted contacting a woman in Meadow Road in Whitehaven in defiance of a restraining order.
The hearing at the North and West Cumbria magistrates court in Workington heard that the incident happened on Sunday, February 3.
Magistrates sentenced him after hearing that the incident happened only days after the order was imposed - on January 28 - he had been drinking, and there had been two previous assaults on the same victim.
He was also ordered to pay a £115 surcharge to fund victim services and £85 court costs.
