POLICE and the fire service are investigating a suspected arson near Ponteland.
At around 1am on Thursday, February 14, fire crews from Ponteland and police were called to a mini excavator and a fork lift truck which were ablaze at Eachwick.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “Officers attended and the vehicles were extinguished. Nobody was injured.
“An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
“Police are currently treating the blaze as suspected arson.
“Anybody with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 019512T/19.”
