A FIRST school which is part of the Hexham Partnership of Schools is celebrating after receiving a good Ofsted report.
All schools in the partnership continue to be rated either ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ and after Ofsted inspectors visited Slaley last month, they declared that the school continued to be ‘good’.
Headteacher Debbie Brett said: “At Slaley First School, there is a real sense of unity among the school team and the wider school community.
“It is an inclusive, friendly school that is truly at the heart of the village.
“Our expectations for all pupils is high and our small numbers enable us to adapt teaching to meet every child’s individual needs.
“We are extremely proud to have remained ‘good’ and to have achieved such a positive report from Ofsted where many key strengths have been highlighted.”
In his report, inspector Phil Scott said: “There is a tangible sense of purpose, energy and uncompromising ambition to see all pupils flourish, both academically and in their all-round development.”
