POLICE were forced to close a section of the A69 at Corbridge after sheep escaped from a field near the Styford roundabout.
A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “At about 8am on Saturday we received a report of sheep on the A69 between Brockbushes and Corbridge.
“Officers attended and the road was closed for a short time while the sheep were found and returned safely to a field.”
