A MAN has been airlifted to hospital following an accident at an address in Haltwhistle.

The air ambulance landed at Haltwhistle Academy to attend to an elderly man who had been injured after a fall at his address. He was taken to the RVI in Newcastle.

A spokeswoman for the air ambulance said: "We were activated at 10.55am to Haltwhistle to reports of an adult who had taken a fall.

"Our paramedic and doctor critical care team assessed and treated a patient and he was flown to hospital. The flight took 15 minutes."
