A MAN has been jailed after stabbing his friend at an Otterburn holiday lodge.
Declan Fusco (27), of Peterlee, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding, assault, assaulting a police officer, driving whilst disqualified, and driving without insurance.
At Newcastle Crown Court on Tuesday, he was sentenced to 20 months in prison for unlawful wounding and a further five months for driving whilst disqualified. The judge also imposed two-month prison sentences for the two assaults to run concurrently.
The court heard how Fusco stabbed friend Guy Dunn in the chest on July 22, 2017 in an act of self-defence. He threw the knife in a hot tub and fled the scene, before crashing his car at Catcleugh Reservoir near Byrness.
