PEOPLE are being told to batten down the hatches as a weather warning for wind and rain has been issued for the North-East.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning between 12.15am and 3pm on Saturday, with people being warned the strong winds may bring short term loss of power.
Winds of up to 55mph are expected inland with 70mph winds possible in coastal areas.
The Met Office went on to tell people that there would likely be delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport, while high-sided vehicles will struggle on exposed routes and bridges.
