EMERGENCY services are working together to tackle a spate of woodland fires near a busy housing estate.
Northumberland Fire and Rescue and Northumbria Police have combined forces to address disorder which has occurred in woods near Castlefields Drive, in Prudhoe.
In a short space of time, the fire and rescue service has been called out to a small number of fires set deliberately and left to burn, with the latest incident reported at 7.30pm last Sunday.
Lee Buckingham, the service’s west area group manager, said: “We are working with police to address the number of incidents.”
