A BELLINGHAM charity committee is appealing for new members to take part in fundraising events.
Bellingham has had an active NSPCC branch for more than 30 years, and raised around £5,000 last year from the local community.
As the only NSPCC fundraising group left in the Tyne Valley, Jane Morton of the NSPCC Bellingham Fundraising Committee hopes to attract more fundraisers to the service.
She said: "Along with our conventional meetings we will be launching our online presence into the community. We will be focusing on four to five events that will be spread throughout the year.
"These will vary and chime with the season – we are not looking for long term commitments from people – we appreciate we all have busy lives so whatever your skill, no matter how much or little time you have, you can contribute in a way that works for you.
"We are always looking for inspiration and for fun ways to raise awareness and help boost the society’s coffers, so whether it is an event you can participate it, local fundraising, volunteering – all will be welcome – you can be part of the solution."
