A MOTHER has thanked her nine-year-old son for raising money for charity during her battle against breast cancer.
Cathy Thirlaway (45), of Haydon Bridge, spoke of her pride that son Geordie raised a total of £3,600 for Cancer Research following her diagnosis in March.
Geordie shaved his head, designed and sold hoodies and his football club of Haydon Bridge United held a function to raise the cash.
