A YELLOW weather warning for snow has been issued by the Met Office.
Covering the Tyne Valley as well as Scotland and the north Midlands, the warning is in place from 1pm on Friday until midnight.
The weather service is warning that hill snow could cause travel disruption, with some roads and railways likely to be affected.
However, there is still some uncertainty in the extent of any snow, although the Met Office warns that there is the potential for up to 4cm on higher ground.
