A BELLINGHAM man has handed over £1,000 to benefit the Great North Air Ambulance Service after putting his wheels to the test in aid of the charity.
Alan Bland from Bellingham, along with his co-driver Alistair Murray, travelled 280 miles to take part in the Mull Targa Rally on the Isle of Mull in October, and Alan decided to collect sponsors for taking part in the challenge.
At a presentation at the Bay Horse Inn at West Woodburn last week, Alan and Alistair handed the £1,000 they had raised to charity representative, Debbie Gibbs.
He said: “ Living in somewhere like Bellingham it’s so important to have the air ambulance there when you need them.”
