SUPPORT for last year’s Remembrance Day was reflected across the district, and the total has been counted up for another of the local poppy appeals.
The Stocksfield and Mickley Poppy Appeal managed to raise £3,210.98 through house to house collections covering most of Stocksfield, Broomley and Mickley.
The appeal was helped by several local people who have collected every year, some serving more than 30 years in total.
The total represents the largest sum which has ever been raised by the Stocksfield and Mickley Poppy Appeal, with the record highlighting the public support for the fund in the war’s centenary.
