HEXHAM MP Guy Opperman looks set to be the only Northumberland MP who will back Theresa May's Brexit deal.
It is widely expected that the Prime Minister is set for a crushing defeat when MPs vote on her Brexit Withdrawal Agreement tomorrow.
The original vote was scheduled for December 11, but it was delayed so that Mrs May could go back to Brussels and demand a better deal to avoid defeat in the Commons.
The issue of the Irish backstop proved a stumbling point for the deal, and written assurances given to the Prime Minister by the EU look unlikely to convince sceptical MPs.
Ahead of the proposed December vote, Northumberland's three other MPs - Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Ronnie Campbell, and Ian Lavery, were united in opposition, with only Mr Opperman pledging his support to the Prime Minister.
If the deal is voted down as expected, it remains unclear what will happen.
A no-deal Brexit becomes more likely, while Labour look set to force a no-confidence vote in the government, which could trigger a general election.
In addition, a growing number of MPs from all parties are backing a second referendum.
