A MUSIC CD produced by a proud Northumbrian will always remind the singer of his late friend.
Inspired by spending large chunks of his childhood with his grandparents in Barrasford, Jackie Davidson turned his poem We are Northumbrian into what he describes as the ‘unofficial anthem of Northumberland’.
Jackie decided to turn it into music for his friends as it topped his bucket list, a list started after his friend Paul Jeavens produced a similar list after being diagnosed with terminal illness, mesothelioma. Jackie said: “Seeing Paul produce his list gave me a lot of inspiration and I looked at a poem I had been working on about being a Northumbrian and I thought it might work as a song.”
