CHILDREN across Hexham showed their creative sides this Christmas.

An art competition run by the Forum Cinema attracted many entries, with local schools taking the opportunity to showcase their talent.

The topic of the competition was ‘What Christmas Means To Me’ and artwork from paintings, 3D models and Lego models was submitted.

Hexham artist Enrique Azocar judged the competition. The top two in the eight to 12 years category were Fox Thorpe and Finn Irving, both pupils at St Mary’s RC First School, with Noah Davies and Annabel Stenhouse, both of Beaufront First School, first and second in the four to seven category.

Sarah Haig, front of house manager at Forum, said: “It’s been brilliant and has really brought the schools together. It’s been so nice that so many children have put the effort in.”

An exhibition of the artwork will be on display at Forum until January 6.
