TWO pubs in the district have impressed critics so much they’ve been named in the 2019 Good Pub Guide’s top 10 lists.
The Lord Crewe Arms, Blanchland, was named as a runner-up in the pub of the year category.
The guide stated: “To compete in the pub of the year category a pub has to have unanimous enthusiasm from all readers on all aspects of its business – it has to be top of its game.”
The Dipton Mill Inn in Hexhamshire was also recognised for its value and own brew capabilities.
The guide says: “A favourite with both regulars and visitors, this is a quaint little country pub with own-brewed ales and remarkable value food.”
