THE British Business Bank has created a new position to cover the North region.
The bank, the government-owned economic development bank dedicated to making finance markets work better for smaller businesses, has established a network throughout the UK which includes a director for the North of England and Midlands.
Geoff Whiteland, who joined the bank in 2015 initially on its ‘Help to Grow’ scheme has been appointed into the role. Prior to working at the bank, he spent 20 years working for banks in corporate, SME and other finance roles.
He said: “I am very happy to be joining the UK Network, and look forward to building on my existing relationships to promote lasting connections between the British Business Bank and the business finance ecosystem in the North and the Midlands.”
