AFTER leading the Corbridge branch, a team of estate agents have been tasked with running a new office in the heart of Newcastle city centre.

A team of 11 based at Savills Corbridge, on Main Street, will be looking after the estate and letting agents’ office on Grey Street as the firm continues to expand its presence in the North-East.

At the head of the team will be directors Neil Morton, Ray Minto and Roger Speirs who will head up the planning, development and valuation teams respectively. All three joined Savvils from GVA, in Newcastle, and brought with them a wealth of experience across the commercial and residential sectors. They have operated from the Corbridge office since March and were chosen as the team to develop the firm’s reputation.

Mr Spiers said: “Savills is the only UK-wide property consultancy providing end-to-end services across the whole development life cycle, and we are thrilled to bring this offer to the North-East. Our experience across residential, commercial and mixed use projects and all asset classes means we have the expertise to maximise value for our clients, drawing upon our network of 35 offices.”

The planning team at the new office is currently promoting 20,000 new homes across the North-East, and is also acting on a number of high profile office, commercial and tourism and leisure developments. The valuation team will specialise in valuations for loan security purposes, accounts, acquisitions and disposals, while the investment team has recently sold an investment property for in excess of £20m.

The new Newcastle office followed the latest mainstream property forecasts from Savills that house prices in the North-East are expected to see growth of 17.6 per cent over the next five years. David Jackson, Savills UK head of planning said: “The team we have appointed in Newcastle is well placed to advise clients at this key time with a wide range of sector expertise and in-depth local market knowledge.”
