AHEAD of the biggest night of the year for businesses in Corbridge, a jewellery store was broken into at the weekend.
Police received a report of a burglary at Kirsty Taylor Goldsmiths, on the village’s Middle Street, at 8.20pm on Sunday.
The incident occurred the night before most businesses in Corbridge welcomed more than an estimated 12,000 visitors for the annual late night shopping event.
On Sunday, the shop’s window was smashed and a number of items of jewellery were stolen from the display.
Officers are asking for anyone who may have information regarding the burglary to contact police on 101 quoting reference 970 021218 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on (0800) 555 111.
