THE Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team has recruited a new member – of the four-legged variety.
Fifteen-week-old English Shepherd puppy Bramble recently travelled up to the North-East to begin her training to be a search and rescue dog.
Her name was picked by the public following a social media campaign on the rescue team’s Facebook page, with more than 400 comments received.
And Bramble has search and rescue in her blood, with both her parents working as operational service dogs.
Her mother, Shola, works with Edale Mountain Rescue team in the Peak District.
And her Auntie Fern on her father’s side is operational with Kendal Mountain Rescue Team.
Bramble’s journey, which is expected to take around two years of training, can be followed on social media at
@DogBramble.
