HEXHAM’S Christmas Market has fallen victim to bad weather.
Hexham Community Partnership cancelled the event, which was due to take place tomorrow and Saturday, after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind for much of the country.
Organisers felt that the safety of visitors and stallholders could not be guaranteed.
The Met Office’s warning is in place from 3am on Friday morning. The weather service say that a spell of very strong winds, with gusts of up to 70mph, could bring some disruption.
