THE Queen's Hall in Hexham is preparing to welcome two highly successful young artists to the stage.

Trombonist Peter Moore and pianist Robert Thompson are both lined up for a concert this Thursday, which has been organised by Hexham and District Music Society.

Peter is the youngest ever winner of the BBC Young Musician of the year, and the youngest ever principal trombonist of the London Symphony Orchestra.

Meanwhile Robert has performed all over the world as a chamber musician, soloist, and recording artist.

The society's chairman, Martin Hughes, said: "Peter and Robert have put together an exciting and varied programme for the society.

"I am sure the evening will continue the high standard of performance and musicianship already experienced this year."

The concert will begin at 7.30 at the Queen's Hall, with tickets available from the venue's box office and website.
