TWO people were taken to hospital on Friday following a three-vehicle crash on the A69 near Hexham.

The collision happened at around 11.30am on the westbound carriageway of the A69, on the approach to Hexham's Bridge End roundabout, and involved a Volkswagen Touran, a Ford Fiesta and a Ford Focus.

A spokeswoman for the North East Ambulance Service said two patients were taken by ambulance to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
