AS Tynedale transforms into a winter wonderland over the coming weeks, the Hexham Courant is calling on the community to share their best snaps of the season via Instagram.

Under the hashtag #OurTynedale, community photographers can share their favourite photos of Tynedale in winter.

These photos can be anything from a shot of the rolling hills covered in a blanket of frost, a robin visiting your garden, or a snap of your family and friends enjoying the Christmas festivities in your local town.

The aim of the community project is to reflect what the county means to different people, whilst giving local photographers an opportunity to exhibit their work on a professional platform.

Snaps will be reposted to over 1,000 follows via the Hexham Courant’s Instagram page, and the most popular pictures with the highest amount of likes will then go on to feature in the paper and on the website. A small biography about the photographer will run alongside each submitted photograph.

For the best chance of your photo to be seen tag @hexhamcourant on your Instragram uploads, alongside the hashtag #OurTynedale.

Photos must be submitted by Friday December 14.
