AS has become a festive tradition, Kielder gifted three Christmas trees to the Houses of Parliament this year.
Three 45ft sitka spruces from Kielder Forest were donated to Westminster by the Forestry Commission.
The trees made their way on the back of a lorry from Hexham timber haulage company R&H Scott, and they were carefully put into place at the beginning of the week.
One tree was erected in New Palace Yard at the base of Big Ben, which is currently surrounded by scaffolding due to refurbishment works. One was placed in Westminster Hall and the other in the Speakers’ Apartments.
Hexham’s MP Guy Opperman said: “The trees will now be spectacularly decorated in time for the festive season.
“It’s always an amazing sight and I can’t wait to see the finished trees.”
