A POST office service has returned to Otterburn after a dedicated campaign from the parish council.
The service which also provides banking facilities will be available every Thursday at the Memorial Hall from 12pm to 2pm.
Coun. George Peto contacted the Post Office head office asking for the service to be resumed due to the village’s rural location.
He said: “The reason why we wanted to get the post office back was because the nearest post office is West Woodburn or Bellingham.
“Post offices are the heartbeat of rural villages and what keeps them alive. If everyone in the village is able to support it then it will thrive. The parish council thanks the Memorial Hall for making this happen.”
