ICY conditions on Tuesday morning caused a minibus to overturn on the Stamfordham Road.
The road was closed following the crash at around 7.40am, and police have warned drivers to take extra care whilst driving due to treacherous conditions.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police confirmed that there was only one person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and that they did not require medical attention.
The spokesman added: "Stamfordham road heading towards Medburn just north of Callerton is currently closed due to an overturned minibus.
"Police are on scene and dealing with the situation.
"Roads are very icy in the area please take extra care when driving.
"Local authority gritters are also attending."
The road reopened at 10.30am on Tuesday.
