AN INVESTIGATION into a five vehicle fire in a Prudhoe car park has been launched.

Working alongside Northumbria Police, a fire investigation team from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service is looking to identify the cause of a blaze in the car park of the Prudhoe and District United Services Club just after 3.20am on Thursday.

As a result of the blaze, a total of five vehicles suffered various levels of damage.

A fire crew from Prudhoe Fire Station attended the scene and extinguished the fire within the hour. Nobody was believed to be injured.

Police are asking for anybody with information about how the fire started to get in touch on 101, quoting the reference number 82 22/11/18.
