A WOMAN is fighting for her life following a crash on the A69 on Thursday evening.
Officers were called to the scene of a two vehicle crash on the eastbound carriageway between Throckley and Lemmington at around 10.25pm.
A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "Emergency services attended and one of the drivers, a 24-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries with injuries believed to be life-threatening.
"One lane of the A69 and the slip road was closed for around a number of hours while the vehicles was recovered."

Police are now appealing for any information or dash cam footage that could help with the investigation. Police can be contacted on 101, quoting reference 1138 22/11/18.
