Police have confirmed that the body of a 16-year-old boy was found at an address in Hexham.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said officers received reports of concern for the teenager at a property on Scott Close at around 6pm on Wednesday.

Police and emergency services attended the scene to find an unresponsive male.

The 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. There is not believed to be any third party involvement. A report has been prepared for the coroner.
