LONDON, Manchester, Corbridge. A list of the places best-selling children’s author David Walliams will be heading to sign copies of his latest book.

The Tyne Valley features on the list of just three areas with the TV comic confirming he will be at Forum Books, in Corbridge, to launch The Ice Monster on November 13. He will be in the shop between 4pm and 5.30pm.

As expected, there was a lot of interest in the visit and tickets sold out within hours of going on sale.

Walliams’ latest book for children is a tale of the unlikely friendship of a 10-year-old girl and a 10,000-year-old mammoth.

His appearance at Forum Books comes during a busy month for the bookshop, with local crime writer Mari Hannah due on Thursday. The day following Walliams’ appearance, Jonathan Coe will visit and Daniel James will round off a busy period by heading there on November 29.

Attracting Walliams to Corbridge is another coup for the shop which was recently shortlisted as Britain’s best small shop by Independent Retailers Confederation.
