THE national reputation of a Corbridge bookshop continues to grow as it is in line for a second award.

In the same week that James Routledge was named independent bookseller of the year by publishing house Vintage, Forum Books was shortlisted as Britain’s best small shop in a competition managed by the Independent Retailers Confederation (IRC).

Mr Routledge said: “It’s a reminder to people we are still in Corbridge, stronger than ever, stocking the best books and still have the best staff.

“I was shocked when I found out I had won because it is a great recognition, and to get that from such a fantastic publisher as Vintage really is an honour.”
