A NEW exhibition at the Queen’s Hall in Hexham will showcase the work of an award-winning artist from Alston.
Dominic Richardson’s exhibition, entitled View from the Tunnel, opens on Saturday.
Dominic, who suffered a brain injury in a car crash when he was two years old, paints impressive oil paintings using the fingers on his left hand in place of a brush.
His art has seen him receive two adult services awards from Northumberland County Council.
Dominic was awarded the learner achievement award 2017-2018 in the language, literature, art and culture category as well as the overall outstanding learner of the year award.
Dominic said that views of the Lake District inspired his work.
He said: “I’ve done 89 Wainwrights in the Lake District; I do them to get in inspiration.”
He added: “I work at home. I like painting semi-abstract landscapes in oil. I work with my hands, pallet knives and sponges to apply the paint.”
The exhibition, in Gallery Two, is open from this weekend until Saturday, November 24.
