A CHARITY specialising in providing care for the elderly will again benefit from an annual fund-raising event.
The Charlotte Straker Project, in Corbridge, has been chosen as the recipient of donations from the upcoming Tynedale gift fair, to be held at Matfen Hall next week.
The charity has received £6,500 from the fair, organised by the Tynedale Hunt, in the past two years, with the money going towards funding for a state-of-the-art integrated bathroom suite.
Since its inception in 2004, the fair has raised a total of £42,000 for Tynedale charities.
Chairwoman of the fair committee Caroline Mason said: “We are so proud that our small committee has raised such a substantial amount of money for charity over the years.
“The fair is a wonderful opportunity to help to raise the profile of local charities, and we’re very pleased to be supporting the Charlotte Straker Project again.”
Chairwoman of trustees at Charlotte Straker Berenice Groves said: “We are over the moon that Caroline and her committee have decided that our charity should again benefit this year, and we’re delighted that they will be funding a wonderful new bathroom for our less able residents.”
The Tynedale gift fair will run between 3.30pm and 8.30pm on Monday and between 10am and 3pm on Tuesday.
