A HEXHAM woman has expanded her business by opening a second sandwich shop in the town.

Building on the success of her Top Nosh business based in Haugh Lane Industrial Estate, Karen Robinson has opened Top Nosh Too in Hencotes.

The new shop was in a more convenient location for people working in the town, and was in an ideal spot for people on the school runs to St Joseph’s Middle and Queen Elizabeth High.

Karen said: “I’ve been trying to get up the street for ages. Down in the industrial estate, it is a little bit too far for people to walk to.

“Because the parking is so bad in Hexham town centre, people aren’t prepared to lose their parking spaces and they don’t have enough time on their lunch break to get down and back.

“Hencotes is a prime location for passing trade, children and parents on the school runs and for workers.”

Karen has owned Top Nosh for the past six years and was grateful for the support she had received over the years.

The new shop has created two new jobs in the town, and it was hoped there would be created over the Christmas period.

Karen was pleased to be opening a new shop, although there will be slight differences between the two.

She said: “The shop at the industrial estate does burgers and hot food while the Hencotes shop will do more cold food, sandwiches, salad boxes and jacket potatoes.

“We want to keep them different so we don’t take away trade from the other.”
