A PENSIONER has appeared in court following a hit-and-run incident in Ponteland.
Alfred Taylor, of Runnymede Road, Darras Hall, appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates Court on Tuesday where he pleaded not guilty to charges of drink driving and failing to stop on Sunday, July 1.
Taylor (69) is accused of failing to stop in his Mini Countryman after the accident on Runnymede Road and allegedly left another man injured.
He was granted unconditional bail and ordered to appear for trial at Newcastle Magistrates court on Wednesday, November 21.
