A REGISTER that could transform historical research in Northumberland was launched at Hexham Abbey this week.
The Manorial Documents Register for Northumberland is an up to date record of all the county’s former manors that has been compiled over the last four years.
The register contains a wealth of historical information and written records that is said to have enormous academic potential.
Northumberland Archives and Northumberland County Council were also presented with a national archives accreditation award. The award was presented at the launch to council leader Coun. Peter Jackson and Northumberland Archives head of collection Sue Wood.
