HEXHAM Town Council has raised no objections to the revamped plans to create a £13m flats and shops complex on the site of Hexham bus station.
After a presentation by Dysart representative Mike Clark at its meeting on Monday, the town council gave a guarded welcome to the outline plans for 2,500 square feet of shops, and up to 32 flats, most with underground parking.
Mr Clark said that after a second public consultation exercise last week, most of the responses to the proposals had been "very positive."
He said: "The discussions we have had with the planners from Northumberland County Council have also been very positive, and we now down to the small technical details.
"We would hope to have a formal planning application on the table within the next couple of weeks. "
Dysart hopes to take possession of the county council owned site in May next year, and start building work within three months of taking over the run down site in Priestpopple.
