TEAMMATES of teenager Rhya Story, of Greenhead, have shown their support for their friend as she battles an inoperable brain tumour.
Haltwhistle United U16 Girls lined up to kickstart the online campaign #Heart4Rhya, which is asking football teams to have their photographs taken while making a heart shape with their hands.
And since posting their picture, the campaign has gone viral, with hundreds of clubs throwing their weight behind Rhya.
Hundreds of people have also been leaving heart emoticons and messages of support for the 14-year-old on the Hexham Courant's Facebook page, with more than 44,000 people reached in just 24 hours.
