THERE were hundreds of competitors from across the North, but local rowers shone at this year's Hexham Regatta.
The youngsters at the town's Queen Elizabeth High School club excelled to take the Victor Ludorum for most wins on the day, their total of 12 just pipping host club Hexham Rowing Club to the honour after they enjoyed their most successful year to date with 11 triumphs.
