POLICE have issued a warning after a Land Rover Defender was stolen from St John Lee near Hexham.
The L-reg vehicle was taken from the hamlet between 9.30pm on Saturday (Jan14) and 6am on Sunday morning.
Officers are now asking motorists to take steps to secure their vehicles by ensuring they are parked in a locked garage or outbuilding where possible, and to consider additional security measures such as a steering lock, alarm, immobiliser or wheel clamp.
inquiries in to the theft are ongoing and anything with information which may help police is asked to call 101 and quote reference 244 of the 15/01/17.
