A LOCAL volunteer cub Scout leader has been selected to represent the UK at the 15th World Scout Moot in Iceland.
Network Scout member Tess Wenham (23) recently attended her final training session before taking part in the World Scout Moot – a gathering of Scouts aged 18 to 25 from across the globe.
The event will take place between July 25 and August 2 in Iceland, with over 500 participants from the UK making up a total of 5,000 participants from 80 countries around the world.
Participants will stay at the National Scout Centre on the banks of Lake Ulfljotsvatn. They will make new friends from across the world and visit Geysir and the waterfalls of Gullfoss.
“I am so looking forward to meeting young people from all over the world,” said Tess, who is a volunteer leader with the Allen Valleys Cub Scout group.
“Learning new skills from the Scouts I meet at the event and sharing these skills back home will be amazing.”
