STUDENTS at the district’s four high schools were celebrating this week after receiving their A-level results.
Haydon Bridge High School said its sixth form enjoyed an outstanding year, with several excelling in vocational courses, and many being accepted for the university courses of their choice.
At Hexham’s Queen Elizabeth High School, 50 per cent of entries were graded A*, A or equivalent, with the percentage of A* grades doubling since last year.
Prudhoe Community High School enjoyed a 100 per cent pass rate, with over 46 per cent of students achieving grades A*, A or B.
At Ponteland High School, 28 per cent of all entries were awarded the top grades of A*, A or equivalent, with 49 per cent reaching A*, B and 69 per cent A* to C.
