CHILDREN from a Prudhoe school brought a little love to elderly residents last week as they secretly swept around their homes delivering Valentine’s messages.
Youngsters from Adderlane Academy got to work making Valentine’s Day cards for residents at The Manors after its activities co-ordinator, Mark Pae, asked if the school would like to get involved.
And last Thursday, before the end of term, the reception class headed along to the care home to deliver cards made by the whole school.
Headteacher Emma Potts said: “When we went up to deliver them we tried to make it a complete surprise.
“The reception class crept round delivering the cards and posting them through letterboxes. The kids loved the idea of being really quiet and they were like little spies.
“Some residents had their doors open so came out to speak to us. It was really great because they were so pleased to see us.
“The thought of young and old working alongside each other is fantastic.”
