THE determination of a town councillor has led to a fun-packed calendar of summer activities in Prudhoe.
Members of Prudhoe Town Council’s planning, contract and works committee have agreed to fund a host of summer activities for youngsters in the town, after the idea was put forward at a previous council meeting.
Coun. Angie Scott had proposed that the council should fund the activities, as well as a meal for those attending, from a pot of £25,000 in its 2018/19 budget for youth provision.
And thanks to the funding, everything from summer fairs and fun days to free funtime swims, workshops, classes and day trips have been planned for youngsters in the town.
The programme of free activities began on July 23 and will run until September 2.
The full calendar of events can be found on the 42 days of summer section of Prudhoe Town Council’s website, and places can be booked through the organisations providing the activities.
